Amazon Stock Analysis: Can the Bullish Reversal Continue?

Amazon shares have recently experienced a bullish reversal after the four-hour RSI moved into oversold territory. However, the key question is whether this momentum can continue or if the move is simply a short-term recovery within a broader downward trend.

From a technical analysis perspective, Amazon became oversold on the four-hour RSI on Wednesday 16 September. Since then, the share price has recovered and broken above a previous resistance level, providing an early bullish signal.

However, Amazon is now trading close to its upper Bollinger Band, while stochastic levels have moved above 80. These indicators suggest the stock may be becoming overbought in the short term. A small pullback and retest of the previous resistance level could therefore occur before a stronger bullish breakout is confirmed.

Fundamentally, Amazon currently has a P/E ratio of 20.41, suggesting a relatively attractive valuation. Its forward P/E ratio is slightly higher at 23.89, potentially reflecting expectations of weaker earnings or changing growth expectations over the next 12 months.

Despite this, analyst price targets currently indicate an average potential upside of approximately 31.6%, suggesting continued optimism around Amazon's longer-term growth prospects.

Outlook for Traders and Investors

For traders, the previous resistance level could now become an important area of support, with a successful retest strengthening the bullish case. Investors may instead focus on Amazon's valuation, earnings growth and longer-term fundamentals, while remaining aware that short-term technical indicators currently suggest a possible pullback.
