The Kremlin has confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump share a mutual commitment to improving U.S.-Russia relations. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, both leaders are working towards gradual diplomatic restoration amid ongoing global tensions.
The announcement follows a phone conversation between Putin and Trump on Tuesday, where the two leaders discussed key geopolitical issues. During the call, Putin agreed to a temporary halt in attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities. However, he declined a 30-day ceasefire proposal that Trump hoped would lead to a long-term peace agreement.
Peskov revealed that the details of upcoming U.S.-Russia diplomatic engagements will be finalised over the next two days. While the exact dates and format are still under discussion, these interactions are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of bilateral relations between Washington and Moscow.
